THE APARTMENTS
Ark House units are part of a large apartment complex with on-site maintenance and amenities including a swimming pool, exercise room and Internet area.
Bedroom and Living Area
Each apartment consists of a living room, dining area, kitchen, bath and bedroom. Furnishings include two twin beds, a recliner, sleeper sofa, basic cable TV, books and other reading materials. The fully- equipped kitchen includes microwave, dishwasher and cooking utensils. All linens are furnished.
Phone service and answering machine are provided.
Facilities
The apartment complex has secure parking areas and on-site laundry facilities.
Requesting an Apartment
Requests for an Ark House apartment are made through the social worker at the Dallas hospital where medical treatment is received. An Ark House volunteer is contacted by the social worker and current apartment availability is discussed.
If an apartment is available, an Ark House volunteer will contact the resident and provide the necessary directions and instructions. If an apartment is not available, the patient may request placement on the waiting list.
